VAFC Will become Virginia Rush Peninsula! 



April 27, 2022, Virginia Beach, VA - We are pleased to announce that VIRGINIA FC (VAFC) will become one club with Virginia RUSH effective immediately. Virginia RUSH and VAFC share a common vision to serve the soccer families and communities in the greater Hampton Roads area to the highest possible standard.

“By bringing together these top programs, all players in the communities will have a home for all their soccer experiences.” Says Virginia Rush and National Technical Director Matt Mittelstaedt, “Our club will allow all youth soccer players to have expanded opportunities to play the sport at the level that meets their specific individual needs.” 

Virginia RUSH Soccer Club has been a part of the Hampton Roads community for almost 20 years and is part of the largest youth soccer club in the world. Under the leadership of the coaching staff at Virginia Rush, they have produced collegiate, professional and national team players over the years and will continue to do so.

Our mission is to serve all players at all levels with a curriculum that embraces recreational and competitive players equally. Virginia Rush is nationally recognized as an ELITE club that competes at the highest levels in both US Youth and US Club settings across the United States. The strategic merger of these two clubs will be an unprecedented move to unite under one banner and create a true PLAYER pathway for an individual to reach his or her full potential. “The goal of this merger is to provide the best developmental and competitive opportunities while offering our members a player pathway that is second to none.” stated Kevin Darcy VIRGINIA FC Technical Director. “With a community centered focus here on the Peninsula and access to state, regional, national and international opportunities as Rush Soccer in Virginia and globally we will not only develop stronger player pools but have access to utilize a professional platform of resources that create a great experience for our players and families. The timing is right for a return of Virginia Rush to the Peninsula, and we are excited to become a part of the largest club in the world – Rush Soccer!”
